B.1 Check-in: Chat-AI (GWDG AI interface) #
In this course, we will use the Chat-AI platform of the GWDG for access to open-weight LLMs.
For access, one has to log in to the GWDG academic cloud. This is shown here for members of KU via Shibboleth (in English):
Figure: Go to https://chat-ai.academiccloud.de/ and klick on “Federated Login” Figure: Select your institution (here: “Catholic university …” in English mode, “Katholische Universität …” in German mode). Figure: Shibboleth login for members of KU Figure: If multi factor authentication is activated, you have to choose a second factor. Figure: The eduMFA authenticator can provide a second factor (here in the iOS app store).

A full (and currently up-to-date) documentation for Chat-AI can be found on https://docs.hpc.gwdg.de/services/chat-ai/. There is also a very active community on https://matrix.to/#/#AIComm:uni-goettingen.de.
